Danielle Bretton is a member of the firm’s Motor Vehicle Insurance practice. She specializes in matters involving personal injury and liability determination, primarily on behalf of insurers. She recognizes that a focus of insurance litigation is risk management. To that end, Danielle has extensive experience in resolving claims by way of mediation.
More About Danielle
Danielle has defended injury claims involving allegations of soft tissue injury, fractures, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, psychiatric complaints and traumatic brain injuries, in the Supreme and Appeal Courts of British Columbia. Prior to joining Somers Poulin Hall, Danielle also practiced criminal law, conducting criminal defence trials in Supreme Court and prosecutions for both the Federal Department of Justice and the Attorney General in Provincial Court.
Danielle earned a B.A. in 1990 studying French, Spanish, German, and Italian. She earned her LL.B. at the University of British Columbia in 1994, before being admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1995. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
Away from the office, Danielle is a lifelong dancer, competing internationally and performing locally, and a member of the Travelers’ Century Club, having been to 104 countries on all seven continents.
