JonPaul completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Sociology at Simon Fraser University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of New South Wales. He has qualified as a lawyer in both Australia and Canada. While in law school, JonPaul participated in the Allens-Linklaters Advanced Negotiation Competition and authored articles for the Australian Health Law Bulletin.

Prior to joining Somers Poulin Hall, JonPaul practiced insurance law for insurance companies and a boutique civil litigation firm specializing in personal injury and wills and estates law. He has represented clients in Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and before the Civil Resolution Tribunal and Residential Tenancy Branch.

Now at Somers Poulin Hall, JonPaul practices in the area of child protection law.

JonPaul was raised in Vancouver where he competed internationally in speedskating and hockey. In his spare time, JonPaul can be found at the rinks around town and walking his dogs.
