Dean was born and raised in Vancouver and received his under graduation degree in 1989 from UBC. Dean attended the University of Alberta where he obtained his law degree in 1993. Dean returned to Vancouver and was called to the Bar in BC in 1994. Dean has represented the Director of Child, Family and Community service through the Lower Mainland for almost 20 years.
Although Dean primary practices in the Provincial Court of BC, Dean has also frequently appeared before the Supreme Court of BC on child protection matters and other areas of civil law. Dean had also made a number of appearances at the BC Court of Appeal.
More About Dean
Dean has been invited to speak on the area of child protection law to a variety of different groups including Provincial Court Judges at their bi-annual Judges’ Conference and to lawyers at legal conferences. Dean has also taught in the area of child protection law at the Justice Institute of BC and the Professional Legal Training Course. Dean has sat on a number of charitable boards including the People’s Law School where Dean is the current Vice Chair.
