Ira Wiesel is litigation counsel at Somers Poulin Hall. His practice focuses on child protection proceedings, where he acts as counsel for the Director.

Prior to joining the firm, Ira practiced across a range of litigation matters, including civil and commercial disputes, family litigation, and criminal proceedings. He has appeared before the courts in contested hearings and trials.

His background includes work in federal Crown prosecutions and civil defence litigation. Ira received his law degree from the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law, where he was recognized for excellence in trial advocacy.
